On the principle of an ABC.... : In the form of an open dialogue with the public, this programme of gatherings launched in 2006 explored the museum's collections and the vocabulary of contemporary art.
A chance to take in 4 large-scale photographs by Pascal Kern, entitled Sculptures (1988). Towering over the person contemplating them, framed by rough wood, mid-way between a supporting chassis and a frame, these images represent life-size foundry moulds (almost 2 metres high) The way in which they are presented, full-frontal or at an angle, the pulsation of the voids and the cut-aways, together with the cibachrome saturation combine to suggest an unnervingly paradoxical space, from which the images take their force, emphasising the main characteristic of extreme resistance.
