By giving carte blanche to Monsieur Christian Lacroix, the museum has turned to one of the most famous imaginations of the age, inviting him to take possession of the Renaissance Palace where, as a teenager, he used to come once a week, skipping class to indulge his dreams as an artist.
Paying tribute to this magnetic place, Christian Lacroix has created a unique arrangement. His "light, restless, dreamy autobiography" concerns itself not only with costumes - from the Minotaur, Picasso, geography, ancient and contemporary, north and south - but also with the body, with cutting, folding and draping, with hair... Transforming the museum into a great living studio, the designer draws together ancient and modern items from the collection and the works of his 15 chosen guest artists, inviting them to mingle in an unprecedented tête-à-tête with the creations that brim from his own inspiration
